This past Saturday Lauren and I attended the 2nd WV Pop Culture Con in Morgantown, WV. Like last year, we sought out Ron Frenz, a comic book illustrator that I am a very big fan of (see my previous post about Ron here). I was able to purchase a piece of original art from him, and have him sign my issue #1 of Spidergirl. As he drew, he told us many great stories about the creative (and technical) process of comics as well as some thoughts on the medium's direction. He's awesome to talk to and very funny. All around, Ron Frenz is a great guy; I would say he's definitely not an asshole. Here's the drawing Ron made for us: Ron Frenz, 2013
I'm excited to announce that my work is now featured on the site figurativepainters.com - an online directory of contemporary figurative artists. Thrilled to be featured on their home page as their newest artist! The creators of figurativepainters.com have done a great job displaying each artists work and bio. Check out mine, then explore the other artists' amazing work.
My work is now featured on Amazon's all new "Collectibles & Fine Art" category through a collaboration with the online gallery Zatista. Peter Faricy, vice president for the Amazon Marketplace remarked about the recent addition of the fine art category: "We are excited to bring one of the largest selections of fine art direct from galleries to our customers. Amazon Art gives galleries a way to bring their passion and expertise about the artists they represent to our millions of customers. We're thrilled to bring the excitement and emotional connection of art to our customers," So, please check out my work on Amazon and see what else this new category has to offer.
